Well my summer was amazing and now I'm back in NYC for my second year of Grad school. Playing for the Women's Israeli National Softball Team was so much fun and brought me much pride. We won a bronze medal in the Maccabiah and went 3-3 in the Euro Championship in Prague. Some games I even hit 3/4! All the training definitely paid off. Prague and Vienna were beautiful, but soooo cold! Even in August! I didn't exactly love Czech food and thought it quite ironic that beer is less expensive than water...but I still loved experiencing the Eastern European culture and visiting the old Jewish quarter and the gorgeous Spanish synagogue. Anyway, I am applying to PhD programs (my back-up plan to this whole folk singer thing) and it seems that I will pursue that path next...where? I don't know...

I honestly can't believe how quickly this past year has flown by. It seems like the CD Release party was yesterday...but so much has happened since. I moved to NYC and already finished the first year of my Master's. Living in NYC was so much fun...expensive...but wonderful. I was overwhelmed by the endless opportunities that "the city" has to offer to aspiring musicians, artists and scholars and look forward to delving in this upcoming year. My first year I was still testing the water...
This fourth of July I will be celebrating my independence by flying to Israel. Maybe I'll be able to see fireworks from the plane...I am spending the summer playing ball with the Women's Israeli National Softball Team. We will be competing in the Maccabiah and in the European Championship in Prague. I am really excited for a summer of dirt, sweat and sore muscles...no really I am excited for the amazing feeling of representing Israel in Europe and proud to be a part of this achievement in women's sports in Israeli history.
So that's how I will spend this summer! Of course I will have my guitar on my back right next to my equipment bag...playing tunes in between games!
Bye for now. I'll write an update from Israel this summer...

Hey Cafe Liati fans!
This is the first journal entry for the new Cafe Liati website.
First I would like to thank all of the people who came out to Sandy Hook, NJ, to support me at the CD release party for Love Is All There Is. It meant sooooo much to me that you drove from near and far to be with me at this huge moment in my music career. I hope you enjoyed the show and took home a hand-crafted Cafe Liati mug by Microfarm Studios. My gratitude is endless.
Well, I've moved to NYC and started graduate classes at JTS. I am very excited about living in NY and as soon as I am settled in I will start hitting the stage again. I am simultaneously intimidated and inspired by this city, but I have a feeling that great things will happen here...
